High Sierra Regatta

Changes to Racing Format for 2016:  July 9-10 and July 16-17, 2016
(5-race series this year)

The outlook for the 2016 High Sierra Regatta looks promising at this time!  There has been steady snowfall in the Sierras beginning in late November. The powdery white stuff is still falling.  Hopefully, this will provide us a full lake to enjoy this upcoming summer.  For a current view of the lake and surroundings, check out the following webcam link:  Rancheria Marina Web Cam (East End of Lake)

The classes for the first weekend,  July 9-10, will be all of the invited centerboard fleets (except the Thistle Fleet) and the San Juan 21 class.  Classes for the second weekend, July 16-17,  are all keelboats classes (except the San Juan 21’s) and the Thistle Fleet.  Racing will begin at 11:00 am on both Saturday and Sunday.  Once again registration will take place on-line through the Regatta Network system–the login link will be available on this page soon.  The 5-Race High Sierra Regatta will consist of 3 races on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.  The course will include separate Start and Finish lines.  Saturday night dinners will be held both weekends at China Peak Mountain Resort and will include a buffetvideo of the day’s racing and a FUN PARTY!
